InRoads/OpenRoads Classes

OpenRoads Designer is a comprehensive road design software. This class is an introduction to the Survey capabilities of the OpenRoads Designer software including importing and reviewing survey data, evaluating horizontal and profile geometry, terrain display, using and editing terrain models and corridor modeling for roads.

OpenRoads ConceptStation offers roadway and bridge design capabilities to help road and land development engineers create intelligent models in context. Explore conceptual design options with real-world data and cost analysis to improve project results. This class will take the user through inputting or capturing existing conditions, selection of highway type from included libraries, layout of highway, adjusting elevations, placing and interactively adjusting a bridge, creating an offramp, creating an intersection, analyzing cost and quantities, moving the file to and an introduction to LumenRT.

This 2 day course introduces civil engineers and designers to using OpenRoads ConceptStation for road projects. The course covers the conceptual design process from start to finish including how to set up a project, gather existing data from various sources, preliminary road design, template creation, cost estimation and visualization done through LumenRT. Students will get hands-on experience with each of these topics. There are no prerequisites for this training, but a fundamental knowledge of road design is preferred.

This class introduces civil engineering designers to all the major technologies in the Create Template and Roadway Designer applications. Users attending will create templates to provide solutions meeting complex engineering criteria and use the Roadway Designer to provide solutions that integrate disparate engineering requirements.
